Good morning, Angolan Diaspora! Life has taken us out of Angola, but it has not taken Angola out of us.

WHO ARE WE?

We are the Angolan Cultural Foundation--an association created by people with Angolan roots. We aim —through culture, unity and solidarity-- to make the dreams of children and young people happen even though they are living in places far from Angola.

WHAT DO WE DO?

We provide a focal point to strengthen the Angola community spirit. We seek support from companies, friendly people, governmental institutions and other organisations...

HOW DO WE DO IT?

With projects that are aligned with the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals, not grand projects, but small things and small gestures that make a difference.

Where there are mugs without fresh water
Where there are orphaned and maimed children
Where there are hands without toys
Where there are homes without curtains
Where there are parties without chocolate
Where there are backpacks without crayons
Where there are coats without buttons ...

This whole gray scenario can be painted with our hands, injecting colour and passion.
This is where we are—starting in the here and now, with a friendly hand to our neighbour, who we might not know.
With luck, we discover that they have seen the same images that disturbed our sleep ...
Maybe because of this insomnia, we find that ACF is the place to daydream and make the unexpected happen!
ACF is here in this place between dreams and reality, in that optimistic way of living life to the full.

But our organisation is not complete. We are constantly searching for people who will join us,
who will roll up their sleeves to make Angola even bigger and better. There is always room at the table for one,
two, or three, and more... to anyone who would sit with us and savour the taste of being Angolan.

WHAT DO WE NEED?

- Young people with ideas and energy to liven up parties, organize events ...
- Children with toys, books, notebooks to share ...
- "Managers" of human and material resources with time to share…
- Enthusiasts of the Internet to "assemble a network of Angolan solidarity" ...
- People who want to embrace this project with creative ideas and working hands ...
- Because dreaming is just not enough—and it's always a good day, when our projects are pieces of a dream in hands that are architects of the future

The ACF was founded in 2004 by a group of Angolans in the Diaspora with the determination to bring together the children of the Angolan nation and their descendants throughout Europe and the world under the ideals of solidarity and social justice.
